《孤独的生还者》根据马库斯·拉特尔（Marcus Luttrell）的同名回忆录改编，马库斯及其他3位海豹队员参加红翼行动，着陆后在途中他们遇到了当地牧羊人（一个孩子，一个青年人和一个老人），按照交战法则他们是可以杀掉他们的，但海豹队员并没有这样做，反而放了他们。不多久他们就遭到了250名塔利班士兵的攻击，四位海豹队员中有三名先后牺牲，马库斯躲在岩石下度过一劫，第二天在河边偶遇见了Mohammad，然后和Mohammad将马库斯带回了村庄，马库斯送出了一份求救信，由此获救。片尾有当时真实参与红翼行动的队员照片以及
